 An apostille is a certificate that authenticates the origin of a public document so it can be recognized in another country. It is used when a document notarized in Florida needs to be valid internationally, specifically in countries that are members of the Hague Apostille Convention of 1961. 

A jurat is one of the most common notarial acts. It is different from an acknowledgment.
